NE DC Historical Society Meets Sunday, June 5, 2005

Come join us again Sunday, June 5, 2005 as we
continue
to explore the history of our northeast Washington
communities,,Ÿpast, present, and in years to come.

Place: Archbishop Carroll High School
4300 Harewood Road, NE
Washington, DC 20017
Date: Sunday, June 5, 2005
Time: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Admission: Free and Open to All

Presentations include:

"Archbishop Carroll: The First Fifty-Three Years" by
Mark Savercool, Director of Development, Archbishop
Carroll High School

"The National Register of Historic Places: Preserving
the Past to Create Livable and Viable Communities for
the Future" by Patrick W. Andrus, Historian for the
National Register of Historic Places

"The Never-Built Freeways of Northeast DC: The Plans
and The Controversy, Part I." by Douglas A. Willinger
of the Takoma Park Highway Design Studio

For those unable to attend this meeting, don't miss
our next month's meeting to be held Sunday, July 3,
2005 from 2:00-4:00 pm featuring presentations on
"The
Never-Built Freeways of Northeast DC: The Plans and
The Controversy, Part II." by Douglas A. Willinger of
the Takoma Park Highway Design Studio, and more;
location to be announced.

There is not.

It would be nice if someone could video tape this and broadcast it over
the internet or locall access TV.
